Mee Goreng and Hainanese Poached Chicken - Chatswood Ipoh Club

Image
Source: Taken By Raj C This beautiful, succulent Malaysian meal set itself as a one to enjoy. The smell, the look and even the taste of it was just so satisfying. Well cooked, perfect amount of spices and enough to feed about 3 people. The service of this Ipoh Club was sensational, always happy to help, always asked if everything was okay, and if we needed anything extra. Alongside with the greater customer service, the atmosphere around was brilliant, nice cool air as well as other customers setting the scene, as they dig deep into their meal, enjoying every last bit of it. The kitchen staff were working exceptionally hard, as it got busier by the minutes, the food still managed to come out quicker than expected which was a major bonus to this restaurant. Overall, the food was great, the pricing was reasonable for quality Malaysian food, with the Mee Goreng being at $13.50 and the Hainanese Poached Chicken being at $18, with a members discount. Solid 8/10, definitely would re

Duck Noodle Soup - Sam Thai

Image
Source: Taken By Richard N Duck Noodle Soup From: Sam Thai - Neutral Bay Price: $17.50 Sam Thai is one of those Thai restaurants that exceed my expectations every time I visit. The quality of their food is always high with fresh ingredients bought, prepared and cooked on the same day. I could definitely taste in this dish. Considering duck is one of my favourite meats, I can be a bit bias and will always enjoy it no matter what dish it is. What really makes this dish so delicious is the soup part which is great for cold windy days like these to warm my chest up. The flavours in the soup is very hard to describe as to what it exactly tastes like but it is god damn good. The noodles are nice thin flat rice noodles which are also my favourite style of noodle as they are easy to eat and hold a lot of the soup flavour on it. Service of this restaurant is always great, quick and friendly. I would highly recommend this place to anyone that wants some really high quality food a

Beef Fillet in Hot Chilli Oil - Tasty Eating House

Image
Taken By: Miko Monteverde Location: Tasty Eating House - Chatswood Food: - Beef Fillet in Hot Chilli Oil - Rice Price: $30.80 (for 2 people) The reason I came across this place is because I really wanted to try Sichuan cuisine (specific to a certain region of China) and my friend recommend we go. It's 5(ish) minute walk from Chatswood station, located near the banks (important because its cash only.) The dish we ordered is beef fillet in hot oil served with hot chilli oil served with sichuan peppers, dried chilli, spring onions and lettuce. The dish is served with the oil hot enough to cook the beef fillet more if left longer inside. As expected, it was spicy and had a unique kick due to the sichuan peppers - overall a great and filling experience, would definitely come back again. - Miko. M

Pork & Chives Dumplings - Top Dumplings

Image
Place: Top Dumplings Location: Top Ryde food court Price: $10.20 (usually $12 but Top Ryde staff discount) Feeling very peckish after work I went to the shopping centers food court to try out the new dumpling place. I wasn’t sure what was the best on the menu so I asked the worker there who suggested the Pork & chives dumplings 10 piece. I got the steamed dumplings however you can get them either fried or floating in broth as well.   I founded that the price was perfect for what you’re getting, 'nearly $1 for a dumpling'. It smelt incredible making me want to devour it straight away for lunch, taking my first bites the combination of the pork and chives was perfect, with the dumpling texture also good. The dumplings were quite large and were packed full of juice and meat. Initially I was wondering how this will fill me up but surprisingly as I was getting to my last 2 dumplings I was feeling quite full. The service was quick and only took less than 5 minutes

The Colonel, Chips, Fried Chicken Tenders - Chicken & Sons

Image
The Colonel, Chips, Fried Chicken Tenders From: Chicken & Sons - Chatswood Price: $19 (Burger & Chips) + $14 (Tenders) Total: $33 Who loves KFC? I definitely do, but always seem to get sick of it over time if I have it too much. Considering the amount of burger places increasing all over Sydney in the past couple of years, the one that has stood out to me the most is Chicken & Sons. They are conveniently located down the road from in Chatswood Victoria ave. The burger i had today, was one of their classic burgers The Colonel. It has a buttermilk deep fried chicken breast, lettuce, American cheese and ranch sauce. God it was a mighty big burger and was amazing to eat. The fact that they can get a fried chicken breast juicy and tender and have a coating just like KFC's is amazing. Also the burger comes with chips, so it isn't too badly priced. I felt really hungry for lunch so i orderd the buttermilk fried tenders. A bit of regret considering i couldn&#

Seaweed Garlic Butter Wagyu Beef Don - Mikazuki

Image
Source: Miko M Seaweed Garlic Butter Wagyu Beef Don From: Mikazuki Price: $16.50 Reading this off the menu, it was exactly how I had envisioned it but more. This Don ('Donburi' meaning rice bowl) is served with marinated wagyu beef garnished with sesame seeds and spring onions alongside pickled ginger, dry fried garlic, a poached egg and seaweed garlic butter - all atop a base of rice. The beef was quite tender and was well seasoned, it was perfect when accompanied by the rich buttery sauce. The poached egg and fried garlic both helped amplify the favour and texture of the dish when the yolk is broken and mixed in with the rest of, it made the dish more crispy and creamy at the same time. The inclusion of the pickled ginger was a must, since it plays an important role in cutting through the fattiness in the beef and sauce, with it's zingy flavour. Overall, it was a very satisfying experience, definitely worth the experience if you haven't
